The Opportunity

Faith Lutheran College Plainland has an outstanding opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual to join a contemporary and progressive Christian secondary school as our VET and Careers Administrator. Ideally, this individual would thrive in a team environment, be solution oriented, seek to be innovative, and strive to continuously learn and develop.

The VET and Careers Administrator provides direct operational and administrative support for the College’s Vocational and Educational Training (VET) programs and Careers Advisor. Reporting to the VET Manager, this position is responsible for undertaking key tasks that will provide VET staff and College management with accurate oversight of student progress. The VET and Careers Administrator will be required to liaise with various stakeholders, both internal and external, with the aim of achieving best student outcomes.

The proposed working conditions are:

  • 12-Month Fixed Term Contract
  • Full Time – Monday to Friday
  • Term Time (40 weeks per year) – school holidays off!
  • 8:00am to 4:06pm
  • Start date Thursday 12 January 2023

 

Key Responsibilities

This position encompasses a variety of duties including:

  1. Actively support the mission, values, and Christian ethos of the College.
  2. Manage the Trade Training Centre (TTC) Reception Desk.
  3. Provide administrative support to the VET Manager and VET staff.
  4. Provide administrative support to the College Careers Advisor.
  5. Play a key role in the co-ordination of the College’s annual Careers Expo

  • An excellent communicator, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Highly organised
  • Able to show initiative
  • Able to prioritise workload in order to meet strict deadlines and timeframes
  • Able to understand and demonstrate the importance of keeping
    confidentialities
  • Loyal to, cooperative with, and supportive of the College and its
    management
  • Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Word and Excel at an
    intermediate level or above
