Christian Living

Welcome to a community where the good news of Christ’s saving grace is shared with passion!

Faith Lutheran College’s central message is that of the gospel; the good news that our acceptance by God does not depend on our own worth or achievements but on His unconditional commitment to us as evidenced in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.

Faith is proud of its Lutheran Christian ethos and the many benefits our students and school community receive from our strong pastoral focus.

We provide an opportunity for students to learn and interact in a community that is faith-based, and also live out these callings and values through their actions.

Our School Pastor works to support and care for our entire school community – staff, students and families.

As followers of Christ and his example, Faith welcomes all families, no matter their personal or faith background.

While Students attending Faith are required to attend regular worship, we have the aim of conversation rather than conversion in terms of ones’ spiritual beliefs.

Pastor’s Welcome

We emphasise the good news of God’s love, care and daily provision as a gift of grace. We do not earn or deserve this grace but receive it by faith in Christ Jesus and his finished work on the cross. This good news of Jesus Christ informs all learning, teaching and relationships at Faith Lutheran College.

Ps. Luke Spilsbury

Pastor — Faith Lutheran College

As the School Pastor, I am pleased to welcome you to Faith Lutheran College Plainland. When a family joins our college, they become part of a community that strives to offer warm, caring relationships in a safe environment. Each student is seen as uniquely created and deeply loved by God.

We are proud to welcome a diversity of religious traditions, yet we are distinctly Lutheran in our Christian identity. This means that we emphasise the good news God’s love, care and daily provision as a gift of grace. We do not earn or deserve this grace but receive it by faith in Christ Jesus and his finished work on the cross. This good news of Jesus Christ informs all learning, teaching and relationships at Faith Lutheran College.

Each week our college community gathers together for a time of worship, commonly called ‘chapel’. Chapel is often led by the College Pastor or by various staff, students or guest speakers. This worship opportunity enables us to reflect on God’s love for us, learn about God’s plan of salvation through Jesus, and challenges us to love and serve those around us.

The College is proud of its Lutheran Christian ethos and the many benefits our students receive from our strong pastoral focus. We provide an opportunity for students to learn and interact in a community that is faith-based but also live out these callings and values through their actions.

Here at Faith Lutheran College we welcome all families, no matter your personal or faith background. We look forward to working with you and supporting your child on their faith and learning journey.

A Worshipping Community

Chapel is an important time for our community. Students gather weekly to worship God and learn about His plan of salvation through Jesus Christ. Here students’ can enjoy messages from a variety of speakers relevant to their age and stage of spiritual growth.

Biblical truths are presented through a variety of engaging ways, and a message usually given by a staff member or guest speaker.

Encouraged to play an active role in our worship, student bands often lead us in musical praise.

Our College Pastor or one of our friendly staff are always available to families for a chat, or to discuss their or their student’s needs.

Please let us know if we can support you in any way.
