Understanding our Learning Phases

Wonder Phase - Prep to Year 2

In the Wonder Phase, we nurture the innate sense of awe and wonder in our youngest learners.

This phase focuses on creating a safe and joyful environment where children feel loved, valued, and capable.

Through play-based learning and rich sensory experiences, students explore the world around them, developing foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and social interactions.

Guided by the principles of God's love and care, we encourage children to ask questions, seek answers, and celebrate their unique gifts and talents, laying the groundwork for their educational journey.

Curiosity Phase - Years 3 and 4

In the Curiosity Phase, we build upon the foundation laid in the Wonder Phase, fostering a deeper sense of inquiry and exploration.

Students are encouraged to pursue their interests and delve into projects that captivate their imagination and intellect.

Learning is hands-on and collaborative, emphasising the joy of curiosity and the excitement of learning new things. Literacy and numeracy skills continue to be a focus, integrated into engaging and meaningful contexts.

We guide students to see learning as a dynamic and enriching experience, where their natural curiosity is encouraged and nurtured.

Inspired by our faith, we teach children to view the world with wonder and appreciation, recognising the beauty and intricacy of God's creation.

Discovery Phase - Years 5 and 6

The Discovery Phase is designed to further develop students' independence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

As they prepare for the transition to Year 7, students engage in more complex projects and inquiries that challenge their thinking and expand their understanding.

Literacy and numeracy remain central, with students applying these skills in increasingly sophisticated ways.

This phase promotes leadership, responsibility, and service, reflecting our commitment to nurturing compassionate and capable individuals who live out their faith in action.

Through a holistic approach to education, we prepare our students to discover their purpose and make a positive impact on the world.

Building our Primary School

The Junior College will be located to the left as you enter the College grounds from Faith Avenue – it will sit on top of the hill behind the new Student Services and Administration Building that is currently under construction.

We anticipate that the build of the first stage of our primary school will commence in 2026.
