Faith Primary School approved for 2027!

College Wednesday, 17 July 2024

Faith Lutheran College, Plainland has received the final approval required to expand into the primary school years, responding to strong demand from the local and wider community.

Faith’s expansion will take place in a staged approach, beginning with the introduction of Years 5 and 6 from 2027 onwards.

Future plans include the addition of Years 3 and 4 in 2028 and Prep to Year 2 in 2029.

College Principal Doug Braiden said Faith’s decision to expand stems from the strong demand from the College community.

“A significant number of our families are located in the corridor between Plainland and Ipswich, a catchment area currently lacking a Lutheran primary school,” Mr Braiden said.

“This achievement marks a new chapter in the 25-year history of Faith Lutheran College,” he said.

Construction for the new primary school is expected to commence in early 2026.

Faith Lutheran College, Plainland offers a progressive and innovative contemporary learning model that challenges traditional schooling.

The College has recently been recognised for its pioneering work in contemporary learning as an awardee at the 2024 Australian Education Awards for Innovation in Curriculum Design.

Mr Braiden said the new primary school will provide a modern alternative to education, catering to the needs of primary school children with an emphasis on wonder, curiosity and discovery.

Applications for enrolment will open to the public on Thursday 1 August 2024.

Families wishing to secure a spot in the Lockyer Valley’s newest primary school are encouraged to submit an application as soon as possible due to the high level of anticipated demand.
