Timetable

Our weekly and daily timetables are designed to balance teaching, assessment load, co-curricular activities and student wellbeing for optimal learning.

LEARNING » TIMETABLE

Our Timetable

Our regular timetable is structured around six teaching and learning periods (‘lessons’), and two break times. On each day of the week, except Wednesday, every student has one lesson for each subject they are studying.

Daily Start/Finish Times

Our school day commences at 8.25am and finishes at 2.50pm.

Break Times

Each day, our first break takes place from 10.15am–10.55am, and our second break takes place from 12.40pm–1.05pm.

Six Subject Approach

At Faith, each student, regardless of Year Level will only study a maximum of six subjects at any given time.

By taking this approach, we are able to ensure that:

  • students’ workloads remain manageable;
  • assessment anxiety and stress are reduced;
  • each student is able to receive direct teaching and learning in each of their subjects, each day (except Wednesday);
  • students receive additional assistance and support when learning new topics or building new skills.

Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday

Our regular weekdays are broken into six teaching and learning periods or ‘lessons’.

On each day of the week, except Wednesday, students have one lesson in each of the six subjects they are studying, meaning that they have regular contact time with each of their teachers, without large ‘gaps’ between subjects throughout the week. This greatly assists students when being introduced to new concepts, learning new skills, or working on larger units that may span multiple weeks.

Wednesday Program

On Wednesdays, our students engage in a learning program which allows them to explore areas of life and learning outside of a traditional classroom setting.

Our Wednesday program is dynamic, and presents a large range of opportunities to learn in different contexts, which are largely driven by student choice.
