Due to significant and severe storm cells, potential for flash flooding and dangerous unpredictable weather, Faith Lutheran College will be closed to all students of non-essential workers tomorrow, Friday 4 March 2022.

Dear Parents/Carers and Students,

Due to significant and severe storm cells, potential for flash flooding and dangerous unpredictable weather, the Queensland Government has advised that all State Schools across South East Queensland, will only be open tomorrow for children of essential workers or the vulnerable.

Following this announcement, advice from the Queensland Premier urging the entire community to remain at home, and in the interests of student wellbeing and safety, we wish to advice that Faith Lutheran College will be closed to all students of non-essential workers tomorrow, Friday 4 March 2022.

IF YOU ARE AN ESSENTIAL WORKER:

Your child may attend school if necessary, however:

    • There will be NO COLLEGE BUS SERVICES in operation tomorrow;
    • The College will be running on a skeleton staff, providing supervision only;
    • No formal teaching and learning will take place;

IF YOU ARE NOT AN ESSENTIAL WORKER:

  • Your child MUST REMAIN HOME and not attend school;
  • Some curriculum material may be provided online, however, full remote learning will not be available.

The approaching weather is of serious concern – we ask all families to ensure that they fully consider the risks associated with travel and/or leaving home for the next 24-48 hours.

Please continue to prioritise safety and wellbeing, and we pray that all members of our community remain safe and well over the next 24 hours and across the weekend.

Yours in Christ,

Doug Braiden
Principal
