Due to the warnings of severe weather, and forecasts for its continuation into the afternoon and evening, Faith Lutheran College wishes to advise parents/carers that they are able to collect students at any time today, Thursday 3 March 2022.

Dear Parents, Students and Members of our College Community,

Due to today’s thunderstorm activity, and forecasts for its continuation into the afternoon and evening, we wish to advise the following:

  • Faith Lutheran College will remain open until the end of our regular school day (2.50pm), however if parents wish to collect their child/ren at any time between now and our regular end of day, they are welcome to do so.

Afternoon Bus Services will run as normal, with the following exceptions:

    • WALLOON/THAGOONA (BUS 13): WILL NOT be operating – as communicated via SMS and Facebook this morning
    • BRIGHTVIEW/MINDEN (BUS 1): WILL NOT be operating – as communicated via SMS and Facebook this morning
    • GATTON (BUS 3): WILL OPERATE, however due to concerns over accessibility, the last stop on this afternoon’s run will be Stop 3C – 166 Mt. Sylvia Road, Tenthill.  Parents of students utilising this service are advised to make arrangements to collect their child/ren at an earlier stop along the route.

The Senior Leadership Team are continuing to monitor advice from both the Queensland State Government and the Bureau of Meteorology, and will communicate any further updates via email should the need arise.

We ask that all parents and carers please continue to:

  • Monitor emails;
  • Keep an eye on the Faith Lutheran College Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/FaithLutheranCollege) for updates;
  • Stay safe, monitor advice from the relevant authorities in their respective areas, and be aware that situations can change rapidly with heavy rainfall.

Thank you, and we hope all students, parents, staff and families remain safe throughout the remainder of the day.
